Below is a brief biography of my career and approach as a TCM practitioner.

Haim was drawn to Chinese Medicine early in life through his study of T’ai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong healing exercises. These studies led him to pursue a degree in Acupuncture from The Institute of
Traditional Chinese Medicine in Toronto, which he completed in 1993.  He has since traveled to China to further advance his studies and to serve an internship in a hospital.

The common philosophy shared by the Chinese Martial and Medical arts resonated within him and he recognized in them valuable tools for healing and personal growth. It is in this spirit that Haim attends to each of his patients.

It is Haim’s feeling that each person who wishes to heal their dis-ease condition(s) must embark on a personal journey of growth and self-cultivation. He sees his involvement in this process as a co-facilitator and works together with each patient to move toward a balanced state of health.

Using the classical diagnostic and healing modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine that he has been trained in, Haim carefully assesses and treats each condition based on the individual’s specific needs.

Initially , through a course of treatment, there is more intensive practitioner involvement (or “doing”) as major shifts begin to take place. After they begin moving in the direction of balance, the patient is given more responsibility in the process, including various “home work” and educational “assignments”.

Traditionally, Chinese Medicine physicians played the dual role of healer and teacher in order to empower their patients with the knowledge and tools to better take care of themselves.

Patient education and involvement is what Haim feels makes the difference between merely getting rid of unwanted symptoms and allowing each person to learn what it takes to strike an ongoing, dynamic state of balance with their own health. Haim tirelessly attempts to preserve this tradition in his work through attentiveness and encouragement with each patient.

Haim continues to explore the connections between his medicine work and his Internal Martial arts training. He is devoted to the study and practice of these arts and to sharing their benefits. As well as maintaining his TCM practice Haim teaches on-going Qi Gong and Tai Chi classes in Cobourg, On. where he lives with his wife and young daughter.
